12:31 (0 minutes ago) ☆ Dear Sir/Madam As a long time gamer in addition to being a purchaser and frequent user of Blizzard products since early Warcraft games through to Diablo 3, I was surprised to discover that your company sponsors events arranged by companies which have colluded to pushed a narrative that 'gamers are dead' and are 'harassers' in response to the consumer revolt against corrupt practices commonly described as 'gamergate In particular the advertisement of Hearthstone in Polygon, as a part of Vox Media which has published an article stating it is at war with gaming consumers and from the Polygon Article An Awful Week to Care about Videogaming which directly degraded consumer concerns by stating 'the obstinate child threw a temper tantrum The thrust of these articles certainly has merit, in that harassment and bullying has no place both inside and outside in gaming However, it is extraordinarily disappointing that these articles, in context of current events, are a direct challenge to 'gamer identity and consumer rights. They have explicitly targetted hundreds of millions of people, worldwide, with a defamatory accusation that they are part of the problem who have harassed certain individuals which is singularly untrue. It is also a clear message from these game review outlets that consumers are simply 'dead' and should go away rather than expecting ethical behaviour despite evidence that, at best, certain individuals have engaged in illegal practices; and, at worse that there is an industry wide non-compliance problem supported or encouraged by editors, managers, site owners and game developers As a consumer I am disappointed that organisations have displayed ethics violations both by failing to follow basic journalistic ethics and standards in addition to flouting corporate compliance, for example, the Sarbanes Oxley Law (The Enron Law) which has regulated the giving of gifts, by requiring gifts above S50 to be declared to avoid graft and coruption. Observing this behaviour as a consumer and independent professional I am forced to look critically upon these companies as I consider their behaviour to potentially be graft and fraud. In addition it raises major concerns that those who fund them could either be supporters or participants in illegal activities Moreover, I would expect an industry leading organisation like Blizzard to act restore the faith of community in the industry. First by placing pressure on these organisations to become compliant and if they fail to respond in a satisfactory manner to cut ties with them At Blizzcon yesterday an opportunity was presented for Blizzard to state that it consider the legal concerns raised by consumers to be important. It singularly failed to do so. In addition the attempt by Blizzard to call for calm and an end to harassment from both side due to this failure to stand with consumers has once again fed the lack of media credibility leading to renewed, and unjustified, spin pieces against consumer rights. Without a clear statement that Blizzard is willing to act to restore consumer confidence either by distancing itself from these companies or by pressuring for them to reform,I will likely lose trust that the quality of products produced by Blizzard are of acceptable quality produced with marketing practices compliant with the law and will avoid purchases in future Regards

X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
