Socially progressive website like RPS that has tried to expose and tackle difficult social issues in the gaming scene? Label it sexist, misogynist, hypocritical, *and* "SJW." Same thing for NeoGAF, Kotaku Polygon, and whatever other sites have tried to talk about gaming's social problems. No matter what the stated agenda is, the commentary always comes back to this bizarre "SJW vs MRA" debate, and that colors the whole argument Bizarrely, now, it has taken on real and supposed women (I say supposed because many of the accounts I saw on twitter had 0 following/followed and 1 tweet, yet fully filled out profiles about being a "girl gamer") with the #notyourshield hashtag, which again attempts to obfuscate the real agenda here by using women to label the socially progressive people taking sides against the hate mob as misogynists It's all a farce. I've rolled my eyes at lots of the articles and debates trying too hard to label the gaming scene or video games in general as scummy and sexist over the last few years, and I've spoken about that many times. But this movement is not the rallying cry you want to answer. It really is the embodiment of everything wrong with video game culture Hey, Publicist F-- Here Again I wish I knew how to trip so you guys would recognize me. I don't get much chance to visit 4chan as I am always at work. Here is my latest report. There is some stuff you might find very important If you don't know what a a publicist does please learn as they are one of the biggest and most dangerous enemies you face in this battle. It's the publicist and their cronies that fill up message boards like NeoGAF with astro turfing and sock puppet accounts. It's the publicist who ensures that "AAA" games get high scores, even when they don't deserve them. Publicists now also employ firms who create gaming "websites" that are entirely fake and deliver a steady stream of agenda driven content that is nothing more than advertising and propaganda. The content is written by kids overseas who are getting paid literally, pennies per word. You will find many of these sites on a website called N4G. It is a FAKE news aggregator which is being manipulated by BOT TRAFFIC and also by certain mods on the site. Publicists don't know how to handle what you are doing here. Their contempt for your intelligence has always run deep. Very few if any have ever played a video game. They see you all as ignorant sheep to be programmed. With this effort you are threatening their very way of life. Keep it up. They are your hidden enemy NeoGAF One last thing You need to know that Tyler Malka HATES 4chan and despises. I can't stress this enough. For those of you who don't know Tyler owns NeoGAF. For many years he made a steady stream of income based mostly and payouts from the big gaming companies in exchange for free publicity on his site. These payouts were arranged by, you guessed it, publicists. Then something happened. /vl eclipsed NeoGAF in traffic, and when the site added vg/ and rl 4chan suddenly became a very big threat. Laughably he even recently asked one of my associates about the proposed legislation that was going to ban anonymous internet posting. (Long dead BTW) He is in daily bitter fits of rage. You have cost him money, power, prestige and the image of his site. He didn't even get invited to E3. You have no idea how significant that is. Simply put, it's going to come down to a battle of survival, it's going to be either him or you. You have to understand something. The one thing publishers and publicists hate the most is FREE UNREGULATED SPEECH. This is why NeoGAF is such a censorship filled f------ hell hole. Author has 304 answers and 740.1K answer views. 5y Not that I care that much either way, but it did expose a lot of corrupt game developers and game journalists. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
