(KUTV) – Two employees of a Portland bakery were fired earlier this month for refusing to serve a woman who came in after closing time. The woman claims they refused to serve her because she is black. ABC 30 reports. Back to Eden Bakery released an assortment of public apologies after the incident, and then fired the two employees. In a Facebook post, the bakery said they are doing business in a "gentrified neighborhood in a racist city within a racist state of a racist country." In a statement, Back to Eden Bakery stated that according to its own surveillance a black woman named "Lillian" entered the business at 9:06 p.m. - six minutes after the bakery's closing time. Lillian is well known in the area as a "professional equity activist," ABC 30 reports. Рорeyes ... 2d 0 yettimy Stai t tu. rc act vut. The staff at Md 21061 are mentally unhinged. This is management and staff. I went there around 12:30 or a bit earlier to pick up a mobile order. I forgot to request no pickles. I return to the drive through where I originally picked up my order and spoke with the manager and staff. We argue for nearly 30 minutes over pickles. Over whose fault it was that pickles was on the sandwich. My argument was can I have a new sandwich. I hate pickles and am allergic. The staff and management argued that it was my fault and they didn't want to waste the food. I had to yell at them like children until they finally caved and gave me the corrected sandwich. I didn't care who was at fault and accepted any blame on my part. But the staff wanted to keep the conversation going. And the manager wanted to say she will remove the pickles off the sandwich. And I'm like that is not how allergies work. You don't remove a topping after it has touched food. The manager and cashier created a hostile pick and exchange experience. Any other Popeyes is decent but this one is full of mentally unstable people who tried to force me to keep a sandwich with a topping that upsets my stomach and throat. The argument was exceedingly stupid. I even had to ask how is my asking for a new sandwich (returning the one with pickles - not getting anything free) hurting you. I had to tell her this isn't personal. It was complete chaos over a stupid topping. I called corporate to report them as well because doesn't need to be served by staff that wants you to get sick.
