So this happened last night at Trader Joe's in Prescott. I have not been able to wear a mask from day one due to a medical issue. But am perfectly healthy otherwise. All this time I have been able to enter the store without an issue for the past year as I have had a good rapport with some team members and most of the management team, especially the store manager who I would touch bases with from time to time to make sure Im still good for entering the store. I had even been going in on Sunday evenings when there was a minimal amount people. Well, I was surprised and dismayed to see this policy change, even though the numbers have going down at a rapid pace. Now l'm expected to use this "special" cart when I go in. Really it is humiliating, discriminating, and bullying. Simply being punished and embarrassed for not being able to wear a mask. Might as well put flashing lights with bells and whistles on the cart too. Definitely feeling more and more like l'm being treated as a Leper. I have already been "banned" from two stores I used a lot. Thats where I eventually see this going. MASK ACCOMODATION APPROVED 1 New Comment

This is the owner of the store, to whom you spoke yesterday. As I explained yesterday, as a private business we have every right to choose our dollar to peso exchange rate. In this case it was 1USD=18MXN. The actual rate in dollar the exchange booth was roughly around 19 mxn at the time. And as I stated, every business chooses their exchange rate, some even more exaggerated than ours. So when you said "you had never seen this practice before" maybe it's because you haven't been paying attention. And before you call a business a rip off, we didn't force you to pay or use your dollars. We were more than willing to guide you to the nearest exchange booth, with the best rate. And sorry to state the obvious, but you ARE IN MEXICO, where pesos are used. It's our currency. Maybe it would be a good idea to carry some if you're gonna be here and buying things. I apologize if you think you're getting "scammed", because you're not. But you should probably do more research before you make claims like these. Good day.
