The fire had an impact on a range of items in the truck. We apologize for any inconvenience or loss. In addition to some fire damage, most of the mail was doused with water used to extinguish the vehicle fire. We thank the law enforcement community and the emergency first responders for their timely and professional efforts. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service responded to the vehicle fire and has taken steps to ensure the security of the mail. A concerted effort is currently underway to recover, salvage, and deliver as much mail from the damaged vehicie as possible. Every single piece of mail is important; so we are asking for everyone's understanding as we complete the process.
