From the fact that everyone wants to be one, right down to the fans who will absolutely piss their pants if their favorite one get's a significant other. porlOck Strong agree. Japanese Idols and LetsPlayers have a much stronger focus on a cult-of- personality style following. Being a good, likeable person is paramount to success. As opposed to Western celebrities, who can be scandalous & not necessarily likeable and still have quite lucrative careers. Also the typical j-idol stars' publicity heavily includes interacting with other idols/ personalities, playing games, reacting to experiences, vlogging, etc, same as LetsPlayers. Idols and LetsPlayers both try to, through media, create an intimate, personable experience- this person is supposed to feel like your FRIEND, at the end of the day.
