About

You're Too Online, Okay? You've Lost Context is a dialogue said by the Succession character Kendall Roy (played by actor Jeremy Strong) to his ex-wife Rava Roy (Natalie Gold) during an argument in the TV series. Online, a screencap of the scene captioned with the dialogue has been spread as a reaction image and GIF caption meme, often used to tell somebody that they've lost touch with reality as a result of being chronically online.

Origin

On May 21st, 2023, episode nine "Church and State" of season four of the American satirical comedy-drama television series Succession premiered.[1] In one scene of the episode, the character Kendall Roy discovers his ex-wife Rava Roy traveling away from the city with their kids, who were to attend their grandfather's funeral, due to worries over the ongoing unrest in the city. Angered, Kendall confronts his wife, arguing that she "is too online" and that her worries are unsubstantiated.

Touch Grass

Touch Grass, or Touch Some Grass, is a popular online insult and alternative way of telling someone to "go outside," implying they're spending too much time online and it's affecting their wellbeing. The exact origin of the phrase is unknown, but it started spreading significantly in 2019, becoming increasingly popular on Twitter throughout 2021.
