About
Your Verification Code is 1196 refers to a moldy screenshot of a text message conversation between an automated messaging program and a human who responded to the bot with a photo of Twitch streamer Duke Dennis wearing a green jacket and leaning against a wall. The Duke Dennis photo represented the sender's attempt at rizz, representing them "rizzing up" the automated bot. The image macro was first posted in a private Discord server in December 2022, then it made its way to Instagram and iFunny, eventually becoming a TikTok meme in 2023 as meme creators inserted the image into CapCut templates or referenced the catchphrase in other, exploitable templates.
Origin
On December 1st, 2022, Twitch[1] streamer tnickelss posted a TikTok[2] video that was a clip from his then-recent stream in which he reacted to images and screenshots sent by users in his Discord server that showed their "rizz" in DMs, text massages and Snapchats. The "rizz" image shown in the TikTok[2] was an iPhone message in which a bot texted, "Your verification code is 1196," and the person responded with a picture of Duke Dennis in a green jacket.[3] The TikTok received roughly 465,400 plays and 44,700 likes in two months (shown below).

In February 2023, the meme continued to be used on TikTok in viral photo slideshows. The slideshow received roughly 198,200 plays and 32,100 likes in two days.
The same circle of TikTokers began inserting the meme into CapCut templates. For instance, on February 8th, 2023, TikToker[8] failedprisoner used the Mango Dropping From Helicopter template, earning roughly 12,100 plays and 2,400 likes in one day (shown below).
