About
Your Boos Mean Nothing, also known as Your Boos Mean Nothing, I've Seen What Makes You Cheer, is an exploitable image macro depicting animated character Rick Sanchez from the Adult Swim TV show Rick and Morty. Typically, the meme is used to show when an individual doesn't care about what someone thinks of their opinion or statement. It is used in a similar capacity to I'm Tired of Pretending It's Not and Why are you booing me, I'm right.
Origin
The still and quote used in the meme originally come from Rick and Morty season four, episode three, called "One Crew Over the Crewcoo's Morty" that aired on November 24th, 2019. The line is uttered by Rick Sanchez, voiced by Justin Roiland, to a crowd who are booing when it is revealed that Rick doesn't respect heisting and says, "Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer!" (seen below).
Shortly after airing, the scene was used as a meme format within days, and the earliest known example was posted on November 26th, 2019, by the Instagram[1] account subparpowerliftingmemes (shown below), where it received nearly 3,000 likes in roughly 10 months.
