Eric André is an American actor, comedian and television host best known for his surreal parody talk show, The Eric André Show in which he plays pranks on his guests. He has also starred in series including Man Seeking Woman and Don't Trust the B In Apartment 23.
History
Eric André was born in Boca Raton, Florida on April 4th, 1983.[1] He began his television career playing small parts on shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Big Bang Theory. His first recurring role was of the character Mark Reynolds in the 2012 show Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23. The same year, he created The Eric Andre Show. He played Mike in all three seasons of Man Seeking Woman.
The Eric Andre Show
The Eric Andre Show is a surreal comedy television show starring Andre and Hannibal Buress and airs on Adult Swim. The show is a parody of low-budget public access talk shows with Andre serving as the host. Often Andre will surprise guests with unexpected questions or stunts. It began airing on May 20th, 2012, and has currently run for four seasons. Initially, the show featured "guest stars," who were actually impersonators of famous celebrities. Eventually, actual celebrities appeared on the show, including Chris Jericho, adult film star Asa Akira (shown below), and Jimmy Kimmel.
In July of 2016, Andre attended the Republican National Convention in character for Adult Swim. The segment gained over 2.3 million views on YouTube (shown below, left). He also attended the Democratic National Convention, and the segment gained 1.6 million views (shown below, right).
Notably, Andre crashed an Alex Jones rally in 2016, resulting in a tense standoff between Andre and Jones supporters.
