About
Chuck Tingle is the pseudonym of a satirical weird erotica author, who first rose to prominence over social media due to the publishing of his books, often nicknamed "Tinglers", on Amazon. Following the launch of his first novel in 2014, Tingle has continued to write a number of books, often lampooning current events.
Online History
Chuck Tingle released his first book over the digital marketplace Amazon on December 9th, 2014, titled "My Billionaire Triceratops Craves Gay Ass"[1] (show below, left). Over the next few days, Tingle released 2 more books, titled "Pounded by President Bigfoot"[2] and "Taken by the Gay Unicorn Biker"[3] (shown below, right), which were released on December 10th and 11th respectively. Tingle continued to release books regularly following his initial releases, having written over 70 books as of May 2017.
As well as his books starring various anthropomorphised objects and creatures, Tingle also began to write a number of works parodying various current events, including the UK's withdrawal from the European Union[4] (shown below, left), Pokémon Go_,[5] _Star Wars: Rogue One[6] and Leonardo DeCaprio's Oscar win[7] (shown below, right).
Following Tingle's success, a number of news outlets have covered the topic, including The DailyDot,[8] Flavorwire[9] and Vox.[10] Tingle also runs own website for his works;[11] as well as a Twitter account,[12] where he holds over 32,000 followers as of May 2017.

2016 Hugo Awards Nomination
In April, 2016, Tingle was nominated for the short story category of the 2016 Hugo Awards for his book "Space Raptor Butt Invasion"[13] (shown below, left), following the alt-right Rabid Puppies[14] campaign's attempt to influence the awards. While Tingle did not win the award, the story was covered by a number of outlets, including The Guardian,[15] Salon,[16] and The Los Angeles Times.[17] In response, Tingle himself nominated video game developer Zoe Quinn to receive the award in his stead should he win,[18] as well as writing the book "Slammed in the Butt by My Hugo Award Nomination"[19] (shown below, right).
Video Game Kickstarter
On October 26th, 2016, Tingle launched a Kickstarter campaign for an adventure game based on his works, titled "Project Tingler",[20] featuring indie game developer Zoe Quinn as lead developer. The campaign went on to receive $85,448, beating it's initial target of $69,420, and aims to be released in 2017 with a Pay-What-You-Want pricing strategy.
Scam Accusations
In July 2018, a report about the Kickstarter campaign was submitted to the site Kickscammed, which outlined how the project failed to meet its delivery date.[24]
On August 30th, Twitter user @kainedamo tweeted a question asking "Chuck, where the fuck is this 85k?" earned in the Kickstarter, to which Tingle replied "i am not making video game and never have been"(shown below).
In response, Twitter user @Angelheartnight[25] replied with a screenshot from the Kickstarter claiming the Tingle was involved in the project (shown below).
That day, a post titled "Updates and Apologies" was published for backers of the Kickstarter project. Meanwhile, Zoe Quinn tweeted a link to the Kickstarter update, along with a message claiming that the game was delayed because she "ran out of money" and "had to get day job(s)" (shown below).[26]
Also on August 30th, the update was tweeted by Twitter user @mombot.[23] In the coming days, videos about the accusations were posted by YouTubers The Quartering and Vee (shown below). Additionally, the blog One Angry Gamer published an article about the controversy titled "Backers Hound Chuck Tingle, Zoe Quinn for Answers Regarding Delayed $85,000 Kickstarter Project."
