P6 Wishlist

P6 Wishlist, also known as Persona 6 Wishlist, refers to a phrasal template that developed in parodies of a tweet from a Twitter / X user who expressed what they desired from a potential Persona 6. The parodies usually start similarly but devolve to reveal something absurd or a totally different game.

Origin

On April 8th, 2024, Twitter user @didyaknowtensei^[1] tweeted their wishlist for a potentially upcoming sixth game in the Persona franchise. The tweet read:

P6 wishlist:
-Female protag
-No weird teacher dating social link
-Some playables are adults i.e. p2 EP
-No cops
-quirky references to other persona and Atlus titles in general
-no twist villain

It gained over 1,600 retweets and 7,500 likes in one day (shown below).

Spread

The tweet quickly inspired parodies in which people revealed their "P6 wishlists," but what they ultimately described was something different from a Persona game.

For example, on April 8th, 2024, shortly after the original post, Twitter user @schwaygoose^[2] posted a "P6 Wishlist" that described a Yakuza game, gaining over 3,900 retweets and 24,000 likes in one day (shown below, left). The same day, user @Dottorilla^[3] posted a parody that ultimately described Family Guy,, gaining over 10 retweets and 50 likes in one day (shown below, right).

Other parodies include an April 9th tweet by Twitter user @DatingSims^[4] that listed the opposite of what @didyanknowtensei expressed, gaining over 50 likes in a matter of hours (shown below, left), and an April 8th tweet by user @PrinceOfPufftop^[5] that used the format to describe The World Ends With You, gaining over 20 retweets and 60 likes in one day (shown below, right).
