Origin
The image of Mario throwing a brick originally came from a piece of art[1] created for the video game Mario Superstar Baseball, which was released in Japan on the Nintendo Gamecube on July 21st, 2005.[2] The original image features Mario throwing a red fireball at the viewer (shown below).
On October 14th, 2023, X[3] user @TheSillySnail posted an edited version of the image featuring Mario throwing a brick instead of a red fireball to the viewer. The post gathered over 230 reposts and 1,000 likes in one year (shown below).
