It's December 10th is a redraw meme format based on a scene from Community season 1, episode 12 in which Shirley Bennett hits a man with a giant plastic candy cane. The episode aired on December 10th, 2019 and became the subject of memes and redraws throughout the mid-to-late 2010s and 2020s, seeing a resurgence in popularity every December 10th.
Origin
On December 10th, 2009, Community season 1 episode 12, titled "Comparative Religion," aired. In one scene, Shirley Bennett, played by Yvette Nicole Brown, hits a man with a large plastic candy cane. He says, "Please, it's Christmas!" and she responds, "It's December 10th."[1]
On December 10th, 2012, now-deactivated Tumblr[2] user zoinksz posted a GIF of the scene, garnering over 13,000 notes in 12 years. On the same day, u/Goldenboy451 posted a piece of artwork depicting Shirley with the candy cane to /r/community,[3] garnering over 1,400 upvotes in the same span of time.

The meme became increasingly popular over the following years. On December 10th, 2013, now-deactivated Tumblr[4] user britttaperryhasmoved posted a version of the meme that garnered over 1.3 million notes over the next 11 years.
On December 10th, 2022, Tumblr[5] user kozidraws posted a redraw of the scene drawing the characters as characters from My Hero Academia, garnering over 12,000 notes in two years.
