Is That A Weed? is the popular name given to a 2016 Vine video in which a character calls out another one for holding a cannabis joint – in reality a crayon – and uses the microwave to call the police. It became one of the most iconic Vine videos, and inspired many parodic videos.

weaklingchris first uploaded this video on Vine in 2016. The earliest existing archive of it (see below) is a YouTube reupload^[1] from May 24th, 2016, which cumulated more than 5.2 million views.

It was soon followed by a sequel^[2] (see below), an inversion of the original story, which also became popular, albeit not to the point of becoming viral.
