Days later on June 4th, 2011, Redditor LibraryBouncer posted a derivative titled "How people view me after I say I'm Russian"[3] that was voted to Reddit's front page receiving 2,123 upvotes prior to being archived. The same day, Redditor ledledled posted a thread titled "How people view me after I say I'm Brazilian"[2] that reached the front page as well.
The single topic blog Howpeopleviewme.net[4] was created on June 6th, 2011. The series remains popular on Reddit[5] and 9gag[6], while derivatives of "how people view me" have spread across other internet humor blogs and communities including FunnyJunk[7] and Tumblr.[8]
