About
The Hex Maniac is a trainer class from the Pokémon series of video games. Initially appearing as a minor class, the appearance and personality of its in-game representation has made it popular among fans, inspiring fan art in numerous online communities. She often is depicted with ghost-type Pokémon due to her affinity for using the type in the Pokémon series.
Origin
Although the Hex Maniac class first appeared in 2002 with the release of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire it was not until 2013, when Pokémon X & Y was released, that the modern incarnation of the trainer class appeared.[1] In-game, the class is portrayed by a crazed-appearing young woman with a black dress, disheveled hair, and purple cloth.

Relation to Watamote
Fans of the character have noticed a similarity between the Hex Maniac and Kuroki Tomoko, the main character of the popular manga series Watamote. Because of this, it is not uncommon to see crossovers featuring the two characters in fanart.
