It is unclear where the image was first posted, however, it can be traced as far back as January 12th, 2022, when it was used as a track cover for Soundcloud^[4] artist jaconons's song. On January 13th, X^[5] user @fkdupinthecrib reposted the image to X / Twitter.

The earliest known notable repost of the meme was a January 20th, 2022, post by X^[6] user @earth2dot, who quoted an image of another bunny-cat hybrid with the caption, "I be coolin bra idc bout nun," gathering over 46,000 likes in two years.
