Futsal Shuffle

Futsal Shuffle is a dance created by American rapper Lil Uzi Vert for the song "Futsal" off his upcoming second studio album Eternal Atake. Lil Uzi Vert teased the song and dance, which involves quick shuffle footwork, on Triller and Twitter in November 2019. Fans on Twitter, TikTok, Triller and YouTube shared their videos of themselves performing the dance using the hashtag #fustalshuffle.

Origin

On November 30th, 2019, Lil Uzi Vert posted a series of tweets in which he explains that there will be a dance to go along with his track called "Futsal" (shown below). The tweets gained over 40,000 likes each in five days.

That same day, Lil Uzi Vert demonstrated the futsal shuffle (shown below). The tweet garnered over 165,000 likes and 46,400 retweets in five days.

Spread

On December 1st, Many Twitter and TikTok^[1] Users began posting videos of themselves doing the futsal shuffle. Twitter user @SEASHUNCHO4 gained over 2,000 likes and 100 retweets in four days for their rendition (shown below).

On December 3rd, after sharing numerous fan futsal shuffle videos Lil Uzi Vert tweeted, "I appreciate everybody that’s on this #Futsalshuffle2020 wave make me feel good again " (shown below). The tweet accumulated over 43,700 likes and 3,400 retweets in a day.

That same day, Twitter user @Genius tweeted an image of Bobby from King of the Hill with large head with the caption "me once i finally perfect my #futsalshuffle after days of practice" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 1,300 likes and 160 retweet sin a day. The next day, Redditor Psychoknights posted an image referencing the dance to r/liluzivert which received over 40 points (100% upvoted) in a day (shown below, right).

On December 4th, Twitter @LimboChains incorporated the track into a Sid the Science Kid clip (shown below).
