Overview
Metro Boomin Grooming Allegations refers to a series of accusations and tweets between 2010 and 2014 from American record producer Metro Boomin in which he allegedly referenced being with underage girls and referred to himself as a "pedophile" at a grocery store. The deleted tweets sparked a viral debate and controversy on the internet in the middle of the Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake feud, as the Canadian rapper also faced grooming and pedophilia allegations. The allegations also sparked the Metro Groomin nickname in a series of jokes and memes about the producer.
Background
On May 7th, 2024, after American producer Metro Boomin released the diss track "BBL Drizzy" on May 5th, X / Twitter users started to dig up controversial tweets seemingly made by Metro.
One of the earliest viral posts was shared at approximately 2 a.m. by X user @FearedBuck[1] showing a series of purported screenshots of deleted Metro Boomin tweets between 2010 and 2014 in which Boomin allegedly references being with underage girls, calling himself a "pedophile" at a grocery store and that he is "tweeting via web like a fucking child molester." The post (shown below) amassed over 24,000 likes and 3,900 reposts in less than a day.
Online Reactions
Boomin quickly deleted most of the questionable tweets, but X users started to share screenshots of the posts while also posting memes and jokes calling the producer "Metro Groomin."
For instance, on May 7th, 2024, X[2] user @PhxIvy posted a reaction video of a man saying "There's no was out of this one" paired with the caption "Future realizing he can’t trust Metro Boomin anymore after seeing his old tweets." The post is accompanied by the hashtag #metrogroomin (shown below). amassing roughly 209,000 views and 2,000 likes in less than a day.

On the same day, X[3] user @DaConstrict posted the Gunna Writing Fire reaction video paired with the caption "Drake after he writes 'Metro Boomin stay groomin' and ends the song with 'Metro Groomin wants some more.'" The post (seen below) received over 133,000 views and 1,600 likes in less than a day.
