Remember her? This lovely piece of sunshine here is Soleil (ソレイユ"sorevu"), daughter of Laslow (ラズワルド"rasuwarudo") in the Conquest and Revelation paths of Fire Emblem Fates. The poor innocent troublemaker has been the center of attention of the FE fandom since a fabricated controversy arose around her character involving Soleil as the victim of a shady What was the mistake? Soleil here is a young lady whe openly exhibits an infatuation towards the female physique, and as a result tends to hit on fellow women instead of men. Through our western eyes, it could've been quickly concluded that this girl is, probably, either a lesbian or bisexual This is, however, a mistake, a misconception. Soleil herself is, in fact, straight, and her attraction to cute girls hides ne romantic feelings towards them, which can be easily asserted by her potential marriage partners, all of them male. The entire gay conversion case was the product of a mistake, and blown out of proportion by "journalists who instantly bought this story. It means that, going by FE marriage mechanics, after two units reach S-rank support, they can't marry anybody else, even if their partner dies in battle. So basically, witnessing one of these conversations renders Soleil and her new "best bud" unable to get married. Another enraging implication is that, since Soleil is unable to marry any of these male units, it's even easier for the public to assume she's bisexual or homosexual, adding to the initial controversy instead of putting it to rest. They're basically altering, or at least suggesting an alteration of, Soleil's sexuality, TREEHOUSE ALTERED A CHARACTER'S SEXUALITY TO FIT THEIR AGENDA STOP pushing your moral views into videogames.
