Elon Musk's Awkward Jump Torture Edits refers to memes and jokes about a viral video in which tech entrepreneur Elon Musk can be seen walking onto the stage, jumping with his arms wide open, and then doing a little dance at a Tesla shareholder event held in 2024. The clip was shared on X / Twitter in mid-June 2024, with people mocking Musk's awkward behavior and editing him into torture instruments as a still became an exploitable meme format.
Origin
The Annual Tesla Shareholder Meeting took place on June 13th, 2024, in Texas. Elon Musk spoke at the meeting, which was livestreamed on YouTube. In the clip, Musk can be seen walking onto the stage, jumping with his arms wide open, and then hopping on one leg at a time at approximately the 42:48 timestamp in Benzinga's[1] YouTube video (seen below).
The X[2] account @teslaownersSV posted another angle of Musk's entrance on June 13th, 2024, gathering over 1.9 million views and 17,000 likes in four days (seen below).

X[3] user @WUTangKids reposted the aforementioned video on June 14th, 2024, gathering over 23 million views and 40,000 likes on a post that read, "WTF is wrong with this weirdo." This post was quoted and screenshotted by other X users in subsequent days, as seen in a post by X[4] user @JaneOst_, who called him the "most juiceless man on Earth," gathering over 110,000 likes in two days (seen below).

On June 15th, X[5] user @toxoplasmosii posted a frame from the aforementioned video, freezing Elon Musk mid-jump with his midriff exposed and his arms splayed open. The post was captioned, "can someone photoshop him strapped to one of those big spinning wheels that you throw knives or tomatoes at," gathering over 200,000 likes in two days (seen below).
Edits featuring Musk splayed out in various scenarios began appearing on Twitter / X soon after @toxoplasmosii's post went viral, as seen in a June 15th post by X user @ontan07[6] in which Musk is edited into the Fukouna Shoujo machine, gathering over 85,000 likes in two days (seen below, left).
On June 16th, 2024, X[7] user @POCHOWEK posted another edit of Musk in a torture machine, gathering over 15,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
