About
Cheers I'll Drink to That Bro is a reaction image depicting comedian and actor Eric Andre extending his arm and holding a bottle of ranch dressing outwards in a cheersing motion. It’s typically used as a reaction image to show support, confirmation or any positive reaction from the memer who agrees with the above caption or image in the top panel. The quote itself is also commonly used as a catchphrase without the accompanying image.
Origin
The original photo used in the meme is a still taken from Adultswim’s The Eric Andre Show, and the specific episode it comes from is season 2, episode 4, called "Jodie Sweetin; Vivica A. Fox," which aired on October 24th, 2013.
In the sketch “Ranch it Up!” (seen below), Eric Andre is seen walking around The Queen Elizabeth II Garden, a park located in downtown Manhattan, wearing a green crop top, a pink hat and plaid shorts while holding a bottle of ranch dressing and a Wiimote. He approaches several people sitting around the park as he asks them various absurdist questions including if they want a drink of his ranch. At one point, he approaches a man sitting down by himself who Andre dubs “Mellow Mike.” Andre then asks him if he shaves his pubes, has a Brazilian, wants to 69 and is “down to be penetrated” to which Mellow Mike responds “will you just get the fuck away from me and leave me alone.” Andre replies by saying “cheers I’ll drink to that bro.”
The first instance this image and caption appear online dates back to March 29th, 2015, when the Tumblr[1] page Ranch Me Brotendo uploaded a series of images from the sketch, including the “Cheers I'll Drink To That Bro” snippet.
