Body Building Forum "Days In A Week" Dispute refers to a viral debate that took place in 2008 on BodyBuilding.com, a website featuring editorial style content as well as a web forum where people discuss bodybuilding and fitness-related topics. After a user named m1ndless asked if he would see progress after doing a "full body workout every other day," various members of the forum began to argue whether this meant working out three times a week or four. The bodybuilding forum's "days in a week" dispute has made notable appearances in internet discourse in subsequent decades.

Origin

On May 17th, 2008, Body Building forum user "m1ndless" began a thread titled, "Full Body Workout Every Other Day?" The user asked others on the forum if it's safe and productive to do full-body workouts every other day due to time constraints. Subsequent replies from other BodyBuilding forum users like "Josh" and "steviekm3" gave rise to debate about what working out "every other day" entailed, given that this could mean three or four workouts any given week.

Instead of saying a guy's batting 112 for 448, they simply say he's batting .250 and nobody's saying, 'wait a second, you can't get a quarter of a hit??' If you'd rather say 7 out 14 days so that fractions or decimals aren't involved, no problem. Nobody will dispute that. But if you want it in terms of a week to compare against 3 or 4 times per week, then a decimal or fraction is necessary.
