Aurora Woods Incident refers to a parody creepypasta in a similar vein to the Heaven Stairway Incident. Like "Heaven Stairway Incident," Aurora Woods Incident is the second known meme within the Trollface Incidents format. It is based on an instructional four-panel trollface comic which shows the trollface character getting lost in the woods, leading to an event known as the "Aurora Woods Incident" of August 2021.
Origin
The earliest post of the four-panel "Aurora Woods Incident" comic was posted on iFunny by MilkJugMan[6] on December 16th, 2020, gaining over 130 smiles (shown below). It then spread to a 4Chan message /x/[1] board on January 4th, 2021.
Spread
On January 7th, 2021, the image was posted to iFunny[2] by THEshitter gaining 51 likes. This inspired Redditor K_E_B_A_B to post a short story based on the image in /r/scaryshortstories,[3] gaining over 60 points. The post also was reposted /x/[5] on January 7th, with the OP asking users to share darker "Cover Yourself In Oil" memes. On January 11th, iFunny user TheCumZone[4] posted a video reading of the meme, gaining over 29,000 likes (YouTube repost shown below, left). On January 8th, YouTuber luff posted a video of creepy music over a still image of the meme, gaining over 8,000 views (shown below, right).
