![You have to keep in mind that "Feminism" wasn't "high-jacked by Third wave It has always used gender politics to push an agenda for womens interests You need only look at Feminism's greatest achievements to see what I mean 1. The right to vote Men, required to register for military draft. Women, get it for free That's NOT equal 2. Child Custody: Children use to go to the parent that had the best ability to support and care for them. Until Feminists in the UK decided to create the "Tender years Doctrine" that stated children under a specific age, were better off with their mother regardless. Combo that with the skyrocketing divorce rate, alimony (in many states, LIFETIME alimony) and you have laws that favor women in divorces to such an extent that men to lose not only their family but also their livelihood, for no other reason than because they were born a man. That's NOT equal There's also the bias in laws for prison sentences in favor of women >men, educational grants the welfare state, ect. Feminism isn't synonymous with "equality".. it just uses the term to push for womens interests even if those would disadvantage more qualified or responsible people That being said, Christina H. Sommers has offered to create a new term for Feminism, called Equality Feminism" and has stated that the one defining trait (requirement) is that you have to be willing to debate your "facts" and accept reality that women in the west are more privileged than men are currently IE: It's not just a label, it's a description of how you aim to achieve "equality TL:DR 3rd Wave femininsts are just the evolution of the tactics used by the original femininst to pit women ag ainst men to accomplish their goals Seriously, just read the "Declaration of Sentiments" presented at Seneca Falls from 1848 and you'll see what I mean about Feminisms use of "gender politics [quote] He has never permitted her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise He has compelled her to submit to laws, in the formation of which she had no voice He has withheld from her rights which are given to the most ignorant and degraded men both natives and foreigners He has made her, if married, in the eye of the law, civilly dead He has taken from her all right in property, even to the wages she earns. They didn't say "the system or "the law" or even "governance".. they said "HE" again and again Is it any wonder that each wave of feminism has gotten more and more toxic towards men and the enjoyment of our hobbies?
