I pay the same taxes on my salary as an employee of a for-profit. They are repeating some weird stuff Liar liar Patreon on fire! She's not just an employee. She also dictates how the funds get allocated, which means she gives herself an intentionally reduced income to pay the least amount of taxes possible (Possibly under $8,000 a year) while she allocates the remainer towards "organization expenses". Those expenses can be for many things. She'll designate large parts of her living space has an office, allowing part of her rent to be an organization expense. She'll eat out more often and write that off as an expense. Hosting costs are an expense. Basically, all of the bills and costs she is already paying to be alive will now become an expense for the organization while she minimizes her on-the-books income. You'll see it in the 990. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
