#GamerGate FAQ Q: Why did this start? A: When video blogger (MundaneMatt) made a video about a person using unethical practices to get coverage for her game, his video was taken down (with a DMCA). Then, when people tried discussing this, websites with ties to this person started ocking threads and banning users. Q What do you want? A: To end the cronyism and favoritism in the gaming press. The press has blacklisted and harassed journalists who don't strictly follow their ideology, and promote people who do. They accuse male game devs of being sexists and rapists, but defend women they have connections to from the same allegations. Q Is this movement sexist? A: No, women have been criticized (because no one is above criticism), but a game jam (The Fine Young Capitalists), focusing solely on getting women in gaming has been funded by gamergaters. Many women and men of different races are involved in this movement. Qi Do you want to censor game journalists opinions? Ai No, it's okay to have an ideology, but you need to respect other people's opinions. If people don't agree with you, they aren't sexist. We also think it's only fair that you show both sides of any controversial issue in gaming. If you promote a video about why you think games are sexist, but not any alternate viewpoints, it becomes about favoritism and controlling a narrative. Q: Do you support sending threats? Ai No, we don't approve of anyone sending any threats or doxxing people. Any threats that have been made have not been directly linked to #GamerGate, and we actually have tracked down some culprits, and have raised reward money for the capture of some of these harassers. Q What specific changes do you want? A: We want people who been involved in cronyism out of the industry. Ben Kuchera, Patricia Hernandez, Leigh Alexander, and Nathan Grayson, and anyone else involved should be fired. Also, no one should be hired or kept if they have ever promoted a product they supported. The gaming press should not accuse anyone in the game industry of r--- or sexism without solid proof. This also goes for their opinions of gamers. If you can't prove that gamers are sexist, then you should give them the benefit of the doubt. Finally, the gaming press needs to apologize for calling their readers mysogonists, sexists, racists, etc. As well as spreading misinformation about our goals. The only way for the gaming press to redeem itself is to fire the major offendors and admit they were wrong. But if we quit ourselves, we simply admit to being bigots, which we aren't. So keep tweeting #GamerGate, and keep sending those emails.

X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
