You have for the past three years been a source of a lot of laughs. Not only laughs, but enlightenment. You wrapped fun fact and deeply interesting stuff into a humorous package. Ifelt smarter after reading some of your articles. I cited your stuff to discuss politics, for chrissakes. As a comecy site, you may not think that you have journalistic integrity. But you do. Or you did. But with the past few articles regarding this issue you have shown that you are as uncritical and as disrespectful with the source material as the worst Fox News bias disgused as journalism Shame on you. There is so much material here to grab, research and find. So much here to pull out and discuss, analyze and give a good sensible smackdown worthy of the Cracked I once knew. Both from the trollers and the haters that infested #GamerGate for a while (I will give you that), and from the harrasment and threats from the Anti-#GamerGate. And there was the question ofjournal istic integrity and ethics which seems to unravel more and more as time goes by But you had to simplify. You had to pull all those clever and reflected people who stand under #GamerGate and you had to group them up with a loud minority of trolls. Your first article could be excused. The whole thing was completely new and no one knew exactly what was going on. A lot of people spilled their hatred and bigotry, throwing insults towards the opposition and using #GamerGate as their own little arena of intolerance. But then as things got clearer more and more reflected and intelligent people started to gather around the #Gam erate tag to actually discuss what was important. Even then you stuck by your hopelessly demeaning rhetoric. You brought in Zoe to comment. You brought in Zoe, who has her own history of harrasment and spouting defamation against people she didn't see eye to eye with. And that is when things started to get a bit odd. But now the contours of a possible actual scandal is in hand, and you continue this completely biased and one-sided piece of garbage. For anyone who actually sits down and digs into the loads of discussions around this, your side is so laughably clear and without any trace of second-questioning or even a slight nuance of what is going on. It's so clear that I fail to see any person with half a mind of their own who might even disagree with #GamerGate calling you guys fair. I'm not actually sure if you've done any research and are just pulling everything out from what you read in the mainstream game media which has also been very one-sided - or if you're intentionally ignoring the other side of things. I really wish that it was the former, but I know that you guys are not actually idiots. If you had only shown that you had a slight interest in what was actually the truth... I you had taken some time to discuss the arguments that was actually on the table, and THEN concluded that you didn't agree with #GamerGate, that would've been fine. I am a little bit heartbroken, Cracked. You may think that this is just a group of males who hate women or are afraid of women, or hate thinking that girls are violating" their personal space, but then you'd be idiots, and we've already established that you aren't that, haven't we? Still, you are reducing us who are completely capable of not hating anyone for their gender, social status or sexual indentity, but someone who rather question the motives of some few of those who claim to champion them. This isn't about a gang of flamers who are riling up for no good reason. This is about injustice towards anyone who had the AUDACITY to question a select few, and how they were shot down and harrased, YES HARRASED... This is about critizising a media that decided to only report one truth. This is about acknowledging that, yes... game journalism does seem very rotten. Or at the very least dare to question if it is. #GamerGate isn't always in the right. Some people's reasons for joining it have been a bit questionable. Some arguments have fallen flat due to too much emotion and too little critical thinking. Some people have thrown threats. But the same can be said for the Anti-#GamerGate. The VERY same thing. Emotion over critical thinking. Threats. Why are you not mentioning these people aswell? And that is why l am sorry, Cracked. But I cannot keep following you. I will now have to unlearn my natural instinct to write in "cra" in the address field whenever l am bored. I cannot trust that your pieces of really cool facts are as true as I could before. I cannot read something from you without second-guessing if there's a part of that which is just painted there so that you could describe a narrative that suited your needs. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
