![madeleinekodat i have never been this angry in my life Today, a straight white guy in my poetry class started talking about how he was sick of reading poetic narratives relating to the oppression of minorities/queers /women because "it's been done so many times before" and "we get it, [these people] are victims, now let's do something else".. this is someone who fancies himself an ascetic and I'm pretty sure also identifies as a communist and talks about Occupy a lot I was sitting between one of my best friends/favourite people in this school who with what I can gather from our conversations, is at least somewhat invested in his identity as a gay African-American poet, and this other girl from my small-group conference within the workshop who is also African American and is just the most genuinely sweet person and my friend got so so upset and started velling at this guy (who instead of admitting his error got extremely defensive) and then the girl raised her hand and had the most incredibly worded rebuttal of SWG's earlier statement and he was just such a d--- to her and she started crying and she had to hold my hand to calm down and then l started crying and oh my god this is the most awful thing I have had to experience in weeks How does this much ignorance exist in the world? How dare you say that these things that really happened and disenfranchised millions of people and ruined millions of lives are not important or relevant? Check your f------ privilege I'm trying not to belabor what happened too much bc I know my teacher had him stay behind after class but I just keep hearing "we get it, you're a victim" over and over in my head... You're in a f------ poetry class, don't you know how powerful/hurtful words can be? I guess it was reaffirming in a way, for me to realize that this is the kind of thing that language is capable of and that is why it is so important to me but I just can't get over how horrific it felt to see that happen. ![Feb 17 FAT SHAMING IN STRIP CLUBS Today has been f------ unbelievable. Crap like this is the reason I started this blog; this F------ FATPHOBIC SEXIST P------------ just about got m fired from my job. I HOPE HE ROTS IN HELL I went into the club today because its a holiday weekend so i figured I could make some extra cash off the ppl who are in town on vacation. I'm a stripper bt and have been working at this club for almost a year. When I got there it wasnt too packed but there were a good amount of customers so I danced for 20 minutes on stage before I needed to take a break. my feet were killing me so I took off my shoes and sat down at the bar to chill Tiffy or Taffy I'm 22 years young; LESBIAN; genderqueer; polyamorous; HONDURAN; Latina pride; radical feminist; FAT ACTIVIST; recovering alcoholic; RAVER 4 LYFE I'm a single mom to my amazing son FALLYN STAR. Currently a STRIPPER; also enrolled in beauty school to get my cosmetology license; ORIGINAL SCENE QUEEN; hella random; CRAZIEST girl you'll ever meet I was minding my own business just sitting there when some guy comes up to me and I S--- YOU NOT, he says "Honey i think you need to stay off the stage, i get that some guys are into fat chicks, but you look like a f------ potbellied pig up there. its just not your best look. I'm used to drunk assholes but today I was NOT in the mood. I turned around and told him to go f--- himself, and he just starts laughing at me like it was funny or something. I told him I wasn't joking and that he better back the hell off before I beat his ass in front of everyone. apparently this was hilarious to him, because he keeps laughing. I stood up and got in his face and told him today was NOT THE DAY TO PISS ME OFF and I'm going to SLAP THAT SMILE OFF YOUR F------ FACE if you don't shut the hell up right now. He called me a f------ fat piece of lard and said I need to go home, and that's when I grabbed my soda off the counter and threw it in his face. He started yelling and I told him to NEVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT AGAIN. I thought he was going to try to fight me he was so mad The purpose of this Tumblr is to write about all the fatism, Security came over and pulled me away. I screamed at them to take their hand off of me but they dragged me into the back room and told me to calm the f--- own. I started crying I was so angry exism, racism, homophobia and literal discrimination I deal with EVERY F------ DAY Iy manager said that if I cause one more scene that he's not going to let me back into his club. I tried to explain my side but he wouldn't have it. HE'S SUCH A SEXIST A------. He actually blamed the whole thing on me. I couldn't take it anymore, I decided to just come home. [IWORDS OF CAUTiON]] I do not put up with anybody's s--- so DON'T EVEN TRY ME Im LOUD and OPINIONATED and not afraid to BEAT DOWN anyone who tries to f--- with me. I can't even do my f------ job without people thinking it's okay to tell me that I'm too fat for them.
