After Wario had seen his partner and loyal friend, Waluigi, once again captured and forced to be an Assist Trophy, Wario asked himself one simple, and yet not so simple, question. Why? Why must everyone he know fight each other? What is the meaning of this brawl? HAS there ever been a meaning? But what really disgusted Wario were the assist trophies. These characters were forced to fight for other people, instead of fighting for themselves. They didn't have a choice. Their point of existence was to serve others. Wario already felt sorry for these sad souls, but to see his partner, his friend, being reduced to nothing more but a pawn in this sick game. That was too much. Waluigi was pretty much dead now. His life no longer served any purpose but the purposes of others. Wario knew that no matter what happened, he had to win. Not because of money, not because of fame, but to avenge his fallen friend, even if that meant that he one day would meet him on the battlefield, as an enemy.
