fernlets+ thinkin about some gender stuff for ryumako i headcanon mako as cis because mako's ideas of gender were created in a vacuum (esp with her whole thing about -a maiden only revealing herself to the person she loves the most- and the like) and she never thought about any of it until her brother came out as a trans guy to their family. now enter ryuko satsuki, ira, etc. and there are all these people who are trans that are a big part of her life now and there's a lot to learn about the concept of the gender binary and the people who lie outside of it (which would be ryuko, satsuki, and ira or as i like to call them, The Demi Squad) ryuko worries that mako's adhd is gonna affect her ability to really soak in the whole thing about being nb in addition to mako recently discovering that she lies on the aro/ace spectrum (demiromantic and asexual) and still trying to find out what all of that means, but mako's really invested in it, especially if it means getting to know her friends and datefriend better (she loves the term datefriend so much she thinks it's adorable. she sometimes uses kissfriend). the demi squad really appreciates how much stock she's put into learning about their respective gender identities and they have lots of Teachable Moments in their everday lives and mako's like a sponge, she just soaks up all this info with a don and they're so proud of her bonus, she has her own little pronoun chart with notes like "ryuko uses this one" and "satsuki uses these" and she takes it with her everywhere she goes #klk headcanons #klk // #ryumako #mako gets a separate tag because she is lmp 17 note
