He always lurks two steps behind me, ready to pounce at every given opportunity. I wince in agony as his demonic fiends smash my beloved Alakazam nto the dirt and shoot my dear Pidgeot out of the sky. He laughs at my defeat, then scomfully demands all my earnings. I sprint to the nearest Pokemon center, tears streaming down my face, while his echoing cackle fills the path behind me. Once, I thought that I had accomplished my dreams, I thought that my penilous quest had ended, and that I could return home a hero. I had reached the ultimate goal. I had beaten the Elite Four. I was a Pokemon Master. But once again, he was right behind me. He took my title like he took my money and my pride so many times before. Life lost its purpose. I no longer had aspirations or desires. Now, eighteen years later, I sit atop Pokemon Tower, watching the Haunters and Ghastlies float by, quietly awaiting the day that I too become a ghost
