Putin wanted to show some national pride, so he bought one of the few Russian built cars as his personal transport. Problem is, Lada's are crap. Nonetheless his Lada Niva has upgraded suspension and grille guard and roof rack and snorkel and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires (which are American made, ironically) and, of course, a camo paint job.
That's all grand and good, but still, he probably could've just got a much more subtle Marussia B2, the Russian supercar…
