But after Pyrrha's training, he actually manages to hold his own for a while, and although Jaune doesnt win his older brother grudgingly accepts that he strong enough to keep the weapons and stay at beacon ("I guess dad may get his family legacy after all") RWBY get's an Aesop about how positive reinforcement is good and being a d--- to your family is bad, Jaune gets more backstory and development (because, yknow, he's the f------ priority in that respect) and we get a cool fight scene and the Alpha Jaune we always wanted
