d Roy, Wed, 1st Jan "1 AM from New York 0 f Attack on Titan. That and RWBY pretty much overtook my free time this year I've watched both animes at least several times. As I did saw, I couldn't help but spotting some similarities, specific and superficial. Mostly superficial, though So, it lead me to write this Similarities between Attack on Titan and RWBY WARNING: Contains manga spoilers. Those of you who are not up to date with the manga is advised to stay away. both s the setting involves humanity being almost extinct because of monsters, until they discover something really tart with the big on o Attack on Titan: Humanity almost went extinct because of the titans, but then they found the Walls. Inside the walls is the only safe huma o RWBY: Humanity almost went extinct because of the Grims, but then they found Dust. The only four (city?)nations are the only safe human big that helped them survive. Despite that, mo settlement. * The primary main characters go through massive scale fights straight after graduating their basic training, and before joining the main monster-hunting or o Attack on Titan: The Graduates of 104th Trainee Corps (the top 10th gradu + Ymir, to be more specific) gets swept in the Battle of Trost where they are forced fight hordes of titans. After surviving through it, they officially become part of the Survey Corps (with exception of few characters who died or went to other branch o RWBY: Gradu f Signal (and Sanctum) gets swept in the initiation test where they are forced to fight few Grimms, but colossal Grimms, such as Death Stalker and Nevermore. After surviving through it, they are officially admitted to the Beacon Academy r hunters use super advanced impossibly cool weapons that basically allow them to fly around o Attack on Titan: 3D Maneuver Gear 0 RWBY: Pretty much all weapons, but Cre Rose, Ember Celica, and Penny's swords stand out. The main characters, Eren Jaeger and Ruby are 15 year old fighters have so much similarities, both specific and superficial (mostly the latter) that it ncanny They both have lost their mothers. Granted, this is pretty commonplace o Eren saw his mother getting eaten by a titan in a really, REALLY graphic ma o Although it is f Red like Roses Part II ver explicitly stated, it is heavily implied in the f Their hot-blooded attitude in combat almost gets them killed. (Warning: Contains AOT spoil RWBY: Ruby's blind charge at the Deathstalker in episode 8 gets her cape stuck from Nevermor strike him. If it wasn't for Wei Attack on Titan: Er feathers while Deathstalker was about to ervention, she would have died for real s blind charge at the Abnormal Titan that ate one of his comrade episode 5 gets his entire team minus Armin killed, and s first a leg, an arm, and then gets eaten. If it was formation power, he would have died They both have encou ered aloof girls hiding deep secret, who gave them some cynical lecture about world Attack on Titan: Annie, who is the Femal tan, points out to Eren that the better your tita ying ability is, the further you can get away from RWBY: Blake, who is a Faunus and an ex-White Fang operative, points out to Ruby that the world i like a fairytale They both have extremely powerful and protective sisters o Attack on Titan: Mikasa, practically an adoptive sister of Eren, is THE most powerful human character, only behind Levi. Ruby keeps telling her s arguably one of the most powerful fight stop treating her like a kid t among those who we saw actually fully In addition, they both have three types of characters. Again, these similarities are superficial They both have flawed Deuteragonist characters who grow to be very competent leaders, cumulating in an awesome moment. They are als something of a Badass Normal in thei n Kirstein. He starts off as a self-centered hedonist who only trains so he can enjoy safety and luxury of the inner wall's life.I Attack on Titan the Battle of Trost, though, he correctly spots an opportunity to lead the survivors towards the headquarter titan by cutting its finger off. Also in the graduating class is pretty impressive n escaping being grabbed by a sidering that the only ones better than him are Mikasa and Titan Shifters, the fact that he graduated as 6th o RWBY: Jaune Arc. He starts off as a bumbling glory seeker who forged his way into Beacon. During the en killed an Ursa (almost) all by himself.E Also, considering RWBY characters are pretty much uber-physics defying human weapons, the fact that he can keep up with them is pretty impressive . They both have a girl from a famous family that is quite influential in the story, but had a rather bad childhood o Attack on Titan: Historia, aka Christa, is a daug f a Wall Cult family that holds a secret to the Walls. Because of her status as a bastard though, her treatments were...not exactly very nice RWBY: Weiss Schnee is the hei Fang, though, her childhood was...not exactly very ea s of Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest company in the setting. Because of the conflicts with the White They both have characters whose strength are beyond other charaters' level, who are extremely proficient with wires and blades. They also have something prohibiting their olvements in the plo o Attak on Titan: Corpo Levi.E He breaks his ankle in the fight, so he won't be getting into fights anytime soon o RWBY. Penny.o She is told that her time will come by what is assumed to be her creator/handler, so I'm guessing she won't be getting into fights anytime soon Now, in a more meta sense, to become even more superficial · They both have amazing action animations · They both have extremely successful soundtracks o Guren no Yumiya, the first OP of Attack on Titan, is arguably THE most popular ( saying the best) anime opening of this decade. Just check all the parodies RWBY soundtrack managed to hold #1 spot i Tunes chart. * They both have a lot of foreshadowings, and mysteries related to the settings These are pretty much all I can think of at the moment.
