Both to calm the ragers and to have a single place to post all the content created, as well as discussing the show (most of the background ponies weren't named back then, a good chunk of the name today still come from there) December 2010: The "marker" system and archive website is up, cementing the one thread system, most of /co/ accepted it and leave them alone, the generals were mostly free of spam, all is well. Early february 2011: Some trolls decide to post ponies pictures on /b/. This happened before but usually the thread is just created and die, this time the trolls stay on it, and respond to any response with more pony pic, and recreate the thread as soon as it 404, soemtimes even sooners. This attract rage, but also attention from other trolls Later on, the KYM page is born, and is used as an image dump by said troll to post any /col pony pic, they also use /co/ "image pack" to spam /b/. The trolls organise themselves, and they manage a constant, 24/24 thread about pony on /b/ Later on, a mod decide to act, ban on /b/, then on /co/ thinking they were responsible, this just cemented the "memetic" status as the only thing that could troll /b/. Because of the image dump, the "MLP" page stayed trending for YEARS, that means anybody visiting KYM had the show in the banner on top, this led to pony leaking out of 4chan, and "less obscure" websites and forums to take on the show, mostly linking to KYM page, which contained pictures from /co/, this is how things like "love and tolerate" or even "brony" got out seriously. And for the rest of the year, this spiralled RUINS EVERYTHING
