When someone sees a picture of an IRL horse and it is posted within the vicinity of the spaghettiriffic members of this fandom, they usually mention Applejack. And then it dawned on me: Applejack is just an IRL horse in a show about overly dramatic colored marshmallow pones. That's why she is so mind-numbingly boring. Just about everything she participates in is something an IRL horse would do, with the few exceptions being some things that require a human IRL. That's also why she has no superpowers like literally every other Mane 6 has. Even her own attitude is surprisingly similar to an actual horse Personally, I think she still needs to be there though, so that the IRL horse demographic of this show doesn't feel underrepresented. Giving her character development might alienate her from said demographic, so that's why she is so flat as a character
