Forwarded The Rainbow Rocket story event was originally planned for Sun and Moon, conceptualized as far back as July 2nd, 2015. There are some key differences compared to the final release. Adjacent to the Alola region is a space called the "Ultra Hole" and as consequence of the Aether Foundation's actions, Ultra Space begins to become unstable and mixes with other worlds. Giovanni and other villain leaders from other regions in these worlds come together to Alola. After becoming Champion, news of a new Battle Facility, called the "Battle Tree" makes its way across the region. The bosses of this new facility are Red and Blue, and they challenge the MC and Hau to a battle to celebrate. Afterwards, Prof. Kukui announces the "Alola Gym Project", where the MC must now form Gyms around Alola and recruit trainers to be Gym Leaders. The first Gym Leader of Melemele is the Champion, the player. Team Rainbow Rocket grunts begin causing trouble around the region, pissing off Guzma and Team Skull Lusamine is still suffering from the after effects of fusing with Nihilego when Aether technology is stolen. Lillie and Gladion alert the player about this mishap. The duo are considering taking Lusamine to Bill in the Kanto region. On Ula'ula island, Maxie and Archie are having an argument on which is better, the land or sea. Depending on which version you have, you can team up with either of the two leaders in a double battle against the opposite leader and Hau. At the Observatory, the MC has a battle with Colress to test their capabilities. Afterwards, Colress summons an alternate Cyrus, who battles the MC after meeting their Rotom. In a confrontation with Faba, Sina and Dexio will get involved and it will eventually crossoer with a planned Zygarde event in the game. Team Skull Grunts and Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts break out into a large conflict Ghetsis tries to recruit Colress, but he rejects it, and gives the MC an item. This item is connected to a story in BW. The Rainbow Rocket bosses begin to attack the Gyms the MC setup throughout Alola. Giovanni defeats the MC in a scripted battle, and becomes the new Alola Champion. This motivates the other villain leaders. MC's mother motivates them to protect Alola Professor Kukui gives the MC a special TM to power them up, and it is tied to special Z-Move lore. The MC and Hau go into Ultra Space to take on Rainbow Rocket Red and Blue join the fight as well Giovanni battles the MC and Hau, loses, and escapes. The Aether tech that opened a hole into Ultra Space goes out of control and creates a rift. This rift sucks up some of the villain leaders and sends them back to their worlds. The real Giovanni appears and closes the rift The real Giovanni explains that RR Giovanni was actually a Rocket grunt that greatly admired Giovanni and after falling into Ultra Space, masqueraded as a fake Giovanni. The group return back to Alola. Red and Blue ask Giovanni what the "former Gym Leader"'s goal is, and he says it is to be a trainer his son can be proud of. The story ends with Lillie and Lusamine going to Kanto, with Gladion taking over as the head of the Aether Foundation. In a post credits scene, we are at Alolan Oak's house, with a picture of Red and Blue when they first started their journeys. Travel the world aboard a cruise engaging in battles and communications with other trainers 23 ports in total, some featuring cities from previous regions such as Castelia City and Vermillion City The more battles you win, the more popular you become, and special trainers from other regions will start challenging you at their ports Trainers aboard the ship are called "Cruise Trainers" and through various interactions and battles, your bond can deepen with them, allowing you to do special things such as rare trades! If your bond reaches the max level, you can even team up with other "Cruise Trainers" in the facilities Some of the facilities included Deck Battle: A standard battle facility where the goal is to win consecutively. After a certain amount of wins, you can challenge the "Battle Captain" Team Battle: Form a team with other "Cruise Trainers" to win in this facility. The key is to deepen your bonds with other "Cruise Trainers". Fast Battle: A battle facility where the Pokemon battle in a simplified system that even beginners can enjoy. Training Center: A fun place to learn how to hone your skills in battle via puzzles, quizzes and, shogi. Utilize the "rental battle" even if you don't have your own Pokemon to use. Event Hall: A special meeting grounds for "Cruise Trainers" and other special guests. Events such as concerts and parties will be held to deepen your relationship with others aboard. Special encounters may even be possible? Grow-Up!: A center where all the standard Pokemon training facilities are, such as Daycare, the Judge, and an "Egg Road" for hatching. Forwarded A cut feature from Pokemon X and Y, that would later be implemented into Sun and Moon as well as later titles, are throwing styles There would've been an NPC that would allow you to change throwing styles, and depending on the battle, your rivals/friends would use different throwing styles as well.
