Here's an excerpt detailing what the NYCCHR ordered Tumblr to do: The settlement gives Tumblr 180 days to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide related training to moderators. It must also hire someone with experience in this area as well as expertise in image classification, who will review Tumblr's moderation algorithms to see if they're more likely to flag LGBTQ content. As part of an overall review, Tumblr will reexamine 3,000 old cases where a user successfully appealed a takedown, looking for patterns that could indicate bias. I am genuinely sorry. I wanted to respond to what seemed like big concerns, and what I believe to be fully false accusation of transmisogyny. My responses seem to have just stoked the flames, and made people madder and more dug in on their perception of Tumblr staff, and now a lot of that is directed at me personally. For those who think my responses made it worse than if we had just never commented at all, which is the standard policy, I have failed you, failed in what I was trying to communicate, and I am sorry.

There are obviously tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of trans men and women on this site-why would our accused transphobia be applied to just this one user? The most parsimonious explanation is that it was because of the stated community guideline violations, not her identity as a trans woman.
