I have neurological problems that are debilitating in the presence of loud noises. Luckily, I can still drive, so that is what I did tonight, driving through the neighborhood where aerial explosives were going off. Pretty risky behavior for someone in my condition. Probably even illegal. Ya know, like setting off aerial explosives in residential areas? And once I get on the street where all the launching is taking place, I just park about 100 feet away and blast my brights at the people loitering on the sidewalk. It ruins the party. It is glorious, and it is totally legal, unlike the activity that I am interrupting. I encourage you to do the same. Just be ready to pull a reverse if they start coming at you. It might also help to have a script ready. Something like, "I wanted to get a better look at your illegal activity. What is your name and address, and who purchased the fireworks, and from where? Also, which one of you is going to pay the bill for my dog's seizure medications?" I noticed on Facebook that someone made a post about veterans who might react badly to the sound of illegal fireworks. That person was ridiculed, mostly by people claiming to be veterans themselves and having no problems at all, as if military service makes you a licensed psychologist or something. Anyway, I don't give a s--- if you are a military veteran who doesn't suffer from loud noises. All I care about are the people who do, regardless of whether they are a soldier, line cook or farm worker. The Idaho Falls police do not give a s--- about illegal fireworks. Either that, or the fireworks are so pervasive that they simply can't respond to all the calls. Speaking of calls, I called the IFPD tonight and a bottle rocket went off near my front window. I asked the cop on the line how long it would take to get a police cruiser on my street if I reported that for exactly what it sounded like: gun fire. I don't give a rats ass about anyone who thinks fireworks are OK. They are not OK. They are a nuisance at best, and a poor brainless way of celebrating patriotism. Give me a break. If you have any ideas that can disrupt illegal firework detonations, I am all ears. (Unless I have already gone deaf from all the damn firecrackers, Roman candles, M 80s and bottle rockets raining down on my property.)

SB 2023-04-17 It was nice to meet you last week. You seem like a very nice young lady. I am a little hesitant to go forward with offering you Accommodations for the length of term you require. I plan on having some renovations completed in the fall so that will interrupt an eight month term. My main concern however is, the fact that it is not a Monday to Friday position in office. Being in the home for two days per week, is not some thing I typically have students doing. Any additional utility use during the day hours will increase the bills.
