UNPOPULAR r/unpopularopinion OPINION 35m The concept of receipt checkers at membership stores like Costco is disrespectful and should be ignored. They literally check my membership card on the way in, confirming I'm a member. I cannot even reach the exit without a cashier ringing up my items. There's zero opportunity to even steal something. Truly don't understand the mistrust for their own members. I'm not standing in another line just for you to check my receipt. They've created an entire position just to inconvenience members. It feels disrespectful, especially because they've already confirmed that we're members and personally rung up our items. I've taken to simply walking past and ignoring them, as I have already purchased and own the items in my bags.
