XUD ● XD □ CITY OF COMMERCE Halloween SAFETY TIPS The City of Commerce would like to remind residents that while. celebrating is optional, if you choose to be spooky this Halloween consider these safety tips: Inspect candy, ensure the candy is safe to consume and that it contains nothing that could impact our youth. • Plan your youth's trick-or-treat routes ahead of time. • Do not approach strangers in vehicles, or enter a stranger's house, for any reason. • When crossing the street, remind our youth to use designated cross-walks. • Wear highly-visible colors in order for motorists to see. • For all evening activities, carry a flashlight, reflectors, and/or glow sticks when trick-or-treating. • Keep all outdoor walkways well lit; keep yards, sidewalks, and porches clear of obstacles or decorations that may be difficult to see in the dark or by anxious trick-or-treaters. • Avoid strange pets, not all creatures of the night are friendly! If you do not know the animal, best to avoid. • Avoid the use of flammable costumes such as flowing costumes, props, and wigs/hair which can catch fire easily. • Supervise our youth with all pumpkin carving activities. Remember to report any suspicious activity, or treats that may appear tampered with, by calling 9-1-1.

Dear Anonymous Passerby, Don't worry, you're safe now! Your act of casual cruelty was successful. The complaint you lodged with the HOA was heard. They had me take down the small treefort that I built on this location with my sons during the pandemic. No longer will its presence offend your walk) past my house. Please enjoy your stroll free from the sound of my children's play and laughter. They are safely back inside now, watching television I'm sure. Enjoy the unobstructed view of my backyard.
