Dear Judge Contreras: My participation in the January 6th Capitol Riet was something erintended. My intention when 1 went to D.C. was to see the president speak. I got swept up in the moment and followed the crowd into the capitol without thinking of any possible consequences. I know that's not an excuse. We are all accountable for what we do and the fact that other people are doing something does not make it ok. I have never been in trouble before and promise you I won't be again. I've always worked or been in school and had jobs while I was in high school and college. Now I am defined by this day. Every time I meet a new client I worry about them googling me and getting an impression from YouTube that does not reflect who I truly am I always had the utmost respect for officers of the law, so for me to have took part in an event where officers died and were injured is truly disgraceful. I'm embarrassed by my conduct and by what I wrote in texts. I know in one text a few days after the riot I said I didn't regret being involved. During the plea hearing Your Honor asked me if I still feel that way and I immediately responded, "absolutely not Your Honor," which is still the position that I would take without hesitation every single time. Duped by the former president's despicable lies

Although I am appalled and disgusted with the allegations against Thomas Webster regarding his conduct in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. I do not feel that Thomas Webster is a danger to the community. In fact, he has a history of honorable service in the USMC and in the NYPD. I was shocked to learn from former colleagues that Thomas Webster is being subject to Pre-trial detention in Virginia hundreds of miles from home. A principal of our legal system is innocent till proven guilty. I believe, based on Thomas Webster's personal history of service to country and community, he is entitled to be released un bail or even non to be with his family in New York to prepare for hic trial. I think Thomas may have been duped by the former President's despicable lies and he is deserving of mercy. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Sincerely,

Case No. 21-cr-208-APM GOVERNMENT'S SENTENCING MEMORANDUM For violently assaulting Metropolitan Police Department Officer Noah Rathbun with a deadly and dangerous weapon during a riot at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, for tackling Officer Rathbun to the ground and choking him by the chinstrap of his gas mask, for spearheading the breach of the police line at the Lower West Plaza, and for disgracing a democracy that he once fought honorably to protect and serve, the government respectfully requests that this Court sentence defendant Thomas Webster to 210 months of incarceration. This recommended sentence lies at the low end of the Guidelines range. The Government further recommends that the Court impose a term of supervised release of three years, restitution of $2,060, a mandatory $100 special assessment for each of the five felony counts of conviction, and a mandatory $10 special assessment for Count Six.
