Jermaine Fowler @thehumanityarchive When people go to plantations and don't want to hear about slavery... 4 weeks ago My husband and I were extremely disappointed in this tour. We didn't come to hear a lecture on how the white people treated slaves, we came to get this history of a southern plantation and get a tour of the house and grounds. The tour guide was so radical about slave treatment we felt we were being lectured and bashed about the slavery. My ancestors were from Sicily, never owned slaves, and my husbands were German, and none of his ever owned slaves. I am by far not a racist or against all Americans having equal rights but this was my vacation and now we are crossing all plantation tours off our list, it was just not what we expected. I'll go back to Louisiana and see some real plantations that are so much more enjoyable to tour.

Edit: I mean, if you were to class commercial pilots as service workers, yeah, I've met some people at that level who know that they're doing what they're meant to do. hat's what I'm teaching my kids. Sometimes if you're lucky, you get to have your life's work be your job. Some times, you have to do your job so you can do your life's work. But from what I've seen, most of the time, you have no time to do your life's work because you're too busy doing your job. And that's a shame. That's how I will have failed as a parent.

A You're such an ass to those pool staff, they haven't done anything wrong. They have the same schedule every day and hazel even told you this time.
