There is a spot at a ledge in Cool, Cool Mountain where Mario cannot backflip. Every attempted backflip will end immediately without Mario getting off the ground. This only affects backflips specifically; Mario can still perform any other action normally.

The mushroom platforms in Tall, Tall Mountain have faulty collision that manifests in angle-dependent invisible walls. If Mario approaches them at a precise angle, he will hit an invisible wall that is not normally there.

In Tall Tall Mountain, it is possible to skip the slide by jumping to the alcove with the star directly. This can also be deadly; as it was not designed to be entered this way, the imprecise collision can cause Mario to clip through the wall and die.

OXO In Super Mario 64 DS, there is a crate near the start of the course in Snowman's Land. It can be Throwing the crate onto the arena from the ledge with the tree will cause the crate to land next to the Chill Bully. Then, approach the boss. used to cause the Chill Bully boss to self-destruct. If the Chill Bully touches the crate, it will briefly climb on top of the crate. This will cause a glitch in its Al. After standing on the crate, the Al of the Chill Bully loses the self- preservation routine that would normally cause it to avoid ledges.
