Toby fox on Japanese Undertale localization Right, I did learn one thing during the localization process. The Japanese loan word "guramaa" and the English word "glamour" have slightly different meanings. In english, it means something like "splendor" or "charm", but the Japanese "guramaa" means, like, "big ass and t------." Apparently this is the reason the title of Metaton's boss theme was rendered as "Kisei naru Shitou" ("A Glamorous Battle to the Death") in the Japanese. Because the original english title is “Death by Glamour", if the Japanese title were something like "'Guramaa' ni Korosareru".. everyone in Japan might get the mistaken impression that “Metaton is an enemy that kills you by suffocating you to death with their enormous ass and t------." ... Well, maybe not... *entirely* mistaken.
