That's over a dozen famines with tens of millions dead altogether, and every one was preventable, but the government authorities were either too disorganized to deal with it, or there was an ongoing war to prevent food deliveries. The one in Ukraine gets cherry-picked and blown out of proportion by propaganda spinmasters, while the other 10+ famines get whitewashed and forgotten, because they don't fit the spinmasters' propaganda narrative. Same kind of thing can be said about the British Empire which had many preventable famines killing tens of millions in the same timespan-only the Irish famine gets mentioned while the rest get whitewashed and hidden as if they never happened.
