Psychology of Vaccine Deniers and Anti-facemasks explained: Notice how groups of social attitudes often cluster together? For example, people who are anti-facemasks are usually also anti-BLM. You'll notice that the same people are also anti-refugees, anti-welfare, anti-gay, anti-abortion etc. This is explained by one predominant attitude: they put themselves (and those similar to them) first and the rest of humanity second. They won't wear facemasks because it's a minor inconvenience to them, despite being important to protect the broader community. To them, their own inconvenience is more important than the health and lives of everyone else. They don't understand BLM because they've never experienced racism, and so they don't believe it exists. They are hostile to refugees because they were 'here first', and they feel entitled to say who's allowed entry. The suffering of people seeking refuge is secondary to their own sense of entitlement. While most of us often put the rest of humanity before ourselves, these people put themselves before the rest of humanity. This is why you'll always hear them talk about their 'rights', but you'll never hear them consider what their duties are.
