I was at our local pool with the kids and their friends. After swimming half of the day everyone was ready for food. I go up to the concession stand to order pizza. They were out of pizza and it would be 40 minutes until our local pizza place was bringing more to the pool. There are advertising banners everywhere which gives the number and advertises delivery so of course I call and have the pizza delivered. When it's time I go to the front gate to pick it up and the girl at the desk tells me that I can't bring outside food in to the pool. I explain that the concession stand was out of pizza and that there were advertising banners all around the pool that advertised delivery and that there was no sign stating that there was no outside food or drinks. She smugly stated that if they allowed it that there would be different food delivery companies here to deliver all day. I asked for some leniency being that they were out of pizza and they had signs advertising delivery everywhere, there is no tables to sit at and and I would have to look around for the kids and grab my wife and it was going to be a whole ordeal. I asked what I should do with my pizza while I was going to gather my group. "The pool is a pretty big complex with multiple pools splash pad lazy river and water slides and there were about 1000 people there" She responded with no solution. So I complied laid my pizza on the concrete, eventually found a table outside of the gates and gathered everyone and brought everyone out to eat. Then an employee told us we had to move from there because that table was reserved for a day camp. Now I'm frustrated and this is where it gets to the malicious compliance. So upon finishing the pizza we go to get back to the pool and I hand the girl my pizza box. She just looks at me like I've lost my mind. I explain there is no trash can receptacle outside and I don't want to litter, I also explain that littering is illegal and that since there is no trash can out there that it's the pools property and responsibility to take care of it. She then asks me to throw away my trash inside and that her trash can isn't that big and that they don't take the trash out until the end of the day and she needs the room. I explained to her that this wouldn't be possible as there is a rule that there are no outside food or drinks allowed and that it's her job to take care of my trash, and then I literally said the words malicious compliance o her. She threw it awav but was frustrated about it for sure.
